The Sioux lived in the plains and made shelter from Buffalo skin. They made the tepees so they could travel with them. The tepees were made of long sticks and of buffalo skin.
Many different Native American groups lived in North America. Different groups living in the same region shared the same culture because the land they lived on shaped their way of life. The Siouxs speak Dakota, Nakota, and Lakota. The ghost dance is a ceremony intended to call the Buffalo and send away the Whites. Then after they do the ghost dance they eat the Buffalo.
The Sioux had to shoot buffalo at the age of 10. When they did that they became a warrior. Their shirts and leggings are made out of buffalo skin. They plant some of their food, but not all of their food. They planted wild turnips and corn.
The Sioux killed many buffalo for food. They also ate nuts, berries, wild turnips, meat, corn, and wild fruits. They grew the corn, and they gathered berries and nuts.
